Circus Blood: Tales from the Big Top is our next Friday night special (August 11, 7pm). The first piece, "Trapeze" by Jay Allison is a look in to the spectacular life of his daughter, Shana Carroll, a trapeze artist for the Pickle Family Circus. She talks about the important relationship one must have with their trapeze bar, injuries she endures and the dangers of being a trapeze artist.
Joe Frank reads an excerpt from the "The Lion Tamer" an interesting tale about a wife's revenge on her husband and how the lion's act in the circus came to be the most talked about, mysterious show of the circus.
Elizabeth Eck, relives her days with the circus as she reads from Larry Masset's "Circus in the Blood." She describes the colorful life a circus performer has; from traveling to exciting places to meeting people you might never expect.
