The Millennial Theater Company presents "Dear Evan Hansen" weekends from Friday July 10 through Sunday July 19 at the Youngstown Playhouse with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. When a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, 17 year old Evan is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. As his web of well-intentioned lies begins to unravel, though, Evan is forced to confront the fact that the price of belonging may be far steeper than he bargained for. Lit Youngstown presents a writing through grief workshop series with writer and teacher Sydney Stalnecker at the News Castle Public Library on Saturdays from 10-11am from June 20-August 8. These sessions will include group poetry readings, peer-led discussion, thought-provoking prompts, and the opportunity for participants to share work. Registration is required. The McDonough Museum of Art presents the exhibition "Random Acts of Artists (RAA)’s Moving Forward, Looking Back" from May 29 to July 24.
Beginning as a grassroots movement of around a dozen artists in June of 2014 Random Acts of Artists (RAA), now consists of nearly one hundred creative individuals located in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio representing the fields of fine arts, theater, music, dance, design, crafts, and more.
The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 - 4:00. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
The McDonough Museum of Art presents the exhibition "RUSTED ROOTS: Exploring Our Connection" by Sharon Dundee from May 29 to July 18.
Of her work in her current exhibition Sharon Dundee states, “There is a certain commonality of experience for those, like me, who were raised in the Midwest "Rust Belt" during the 60s, 70s, and 80s - a connection to other people who grew up in similar circumstances, with similar cultural influences."

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Stitches in Time features artwork and artifacts which showcase how the people of the Mahoning Valley have both influenced and reflected on the passage of American history.

The YWCA Mahoning Valley, presenting the 44th Women Artists: A Celebration! The show is free and open for public viewing, from Friday, June 26th through Friday, July 24th, at their facility on Rayen Ave in Youngstown. Laura Garvin is currently the Illustrator Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator for the Pennsylvania: West region of SCBWI and is a graduate from Youngstown State University with a BFA in Graphic + Interactive Design.
