The YSU Ward Beecher Planetarium presents the program, "Passport to the Universe" Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm through Saturday, February 28th. Fly beneath the rings of Saturn, into the heart of the Orion Nebula, and out into the vastness of space to experience stunning cosmic destinations as never before possible. All planetarium shows are free with seating being first come, first served.
St. Blaise Parish at 4545 New Rd in Austintown presents Duo Beaux Arts on Saturday, February 28 at 6:30pm. Here pianists Tao Lin and Catherine Lan play music by Schubert, Piazzolla, Strauss, and more. The concert is free and open to all.
Youngstown State University Theater presents "Episode 26" weekends from Friday, February 13 through Sunday 22 with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm at the Spotlight Theater in YSU's Bliss Hall. The New Music Guild, Inc. will continue its season at the basement social hall of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with a multifaceted concert on Sunday, March 1 at 2:30pm. The concert will feature musicians Brendan and Karen Considine and Gwyneth and Robert Rollin with works by Respighi, Bartok, Stravinsky, and Rollins. A reception will follow the performances.
The Butler Institute of American Art presents "Sensory Sundays" on the first Sunday of every month through November. The Butler will open 1 hour prior to typical hours, and will provide options for individuals including fidget toys, as well as a sensory guide and what to expect while visiting. The Stambaugh Chorus invites all local singers to join its Spring 2026 season, featuring powerful choral music connected to the national Sing Democracy 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. This nationwide project includes newly commissioned works that celebrate democracy, unity, and the American spirit. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, January 6, and will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus. Lit Youngstown's First Wednesday Reader Series presents journalist Vince Guerrieri of Cleveland and academic essayist Daphne Carr of Youngstown on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00pm at the Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. Craig Duster and Betty Coss will co-host with an open mic to follow. The Trumbull New Theater presents the show "Storm Warning" weekends from Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 22. with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00pm. The theater is located at 5883 Youngstown Warren Rd in Niles. Set in cottage country in 1963, Jack Forrester, a damaged World War II vet, has retreated from life.
