Lit Youngstown presents a writing through grief workshop series with writer and teacher Sydney Stalnecker at the main library in Youngstown on Tuesday evenings at 6pm from April 28 through June 2. These sessions will include group poetry readings, peer-led discussion, thought-provoking prompts, and the opportunity for participants to share work. The workshop is free and open to the public. The Youngstown Skatepark Association and Youngstown Cityscape present a free community pop-up skatepark on Phelps St in downtown Youngstown on Friday, June 5 from 5:00-8:30pm. The Youngstown Playhouse presents "Urinetown" weekends from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, June 7 with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. Set in a dystopian future where a severe water shortage has outlawed private bathrooms. Urinetown follows ordinary citizens forced to pay to use corporately controlled public toilets until decades later they rise up to challenge an oppressive system. Tickets at youngstownplayhouse.org.

The Butler Institute of American Art presents "Sensory Sundays" on the first Sunday of every month through November. The Butler will open 1 hour prior to typical hours, and will provide options for individuals including fidget toys, as well as a sensory guide and what to expect while visiting. The Butler Institute of American Art presents Senior Art & Learn, the third Thursday of every month, through November. This free event is for adults 55+ who are interested in learning more about the art in our museum. Seniors will be led on a docent-guided tour of a featured exhibition that encourages “slow looking” and engagement. Seating available. More information at butlerart.com.

Ursuline Sisters Mission, at 4280 Shields Road, continues its 16th year of free guided labyrinth walks on Thursday June 18 at 6:30pm. This year’s overarching theme honors the 350th Jubilee of the Sacred Heart. All are invited to participate. Walks are about a half hour and are led by either an Ursuline Sister or Associate, with the meditations centering on a related theme.

The Youngstown Playhouse presents the show "The Shark is Broken" weekends from Friday, June 19 through Sunday June 28 with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. Set in 1974 during the filming of Jaws, the play takes audiences aboard a too small boat with the actors Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider, entirely at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star—the shark.
